Assess grid, wind and micro-hydro inputs using measured supply and a realistic recovery window.
The 6 topics below use ten different property contexts. Select the setting whose operating boundary matches your situation, rather than assuming a whole-property rating from a small appliance example.
H2OME is in early development. Its 10 kW output figure is a design target, not a proven specification. There is no confirmed price, certification, commercial availability or guaranteed runtime in this guide.
In Australia, check connection questions with your electricity retailer and distributor. Use electrical professionals holding the licence required in your state or territory, and ask the local council about relevant siting, building and water-use requirements. Energy Made Easy covers New South Wales, Queensland, South Australia, Tasmania and the Australian Capital Territory; outside those jurisdictions, check the relevant state or territory consumer energy comparison resource. Compare your actual tariff and charging window, not an assumed national rate. This guide does not claim to know a particular state's approval process.
A night-rate or other time-based electricity plan can create a charging window, but the tariff and the physical supply limit are different constraints. Check the actual plan, meter arrangement, existing overnight demand and available headroom with the retailer and electrical professional.
A connected property does not have unlimited spare import capacity. Existing protection, phase arrangement and coincident loads constrain a proposed charging input. A licensed electrical professional must assess the supply and the impact of new demand rather than relying on a bill average.
A turbine nameplate rating does not describe the energy available at a particular property. Ask for a site-specific resource assessment, an output estimate with stated assumptions and measurements where appropriate. Terrain, obstacles, equipment limits and maintenance access affect the proposal.
Micro-hydro output depends on the available flow, usable head and the complete installation. A stream on a property is not proof of a viable or permitted electricity supply. Commission a professional resource assessment and clarify water-use, environmental and local consent questions before assuming generation.
An autonomy worksheet is incomplete without a recovery worksheet. Define how much usable electrical energy was consumed, what input is actually available and how long it can be allocated to replenishment. Include ordinary demand that continues during recovery.
A daily input total can conceal a timing mismatch. Draw separate timelines for wind or micro-hydro production, ordinary consumption and proposed charging. Surplus at one moment does not help a load at another moment unless a suitable store and control system can bridge the gap.
Ask us about H2OME, tell us about your property or register your interest in the proposed system. We are in early development. No payment or purchase commitment; contacting us does not guarantee a pilot installation.
