The honest version, including the parts other hydrogen pitches skip.

Can it really power my home using water?

Water is what the system runs on, and it loops: the fuel cell turns hydrogen back into water, which goes round again. The energy comes from cheap off-peak power. H2OME charges overnight, stores that energy as hydrogen, and gives it back as electricity during power cuts and long outages.

Can I go fully off the grid?

H2OME needs a power source to charge from. On the grid, it charges on cheap night-rate power and carries the house through outages for days. For a fully off-grid site it can charge from a wind turbine or micro-hydro. During the pilot we size each site individually and tell you honestly what makes sense for your load.

How is it different from a home battery?

A battery is great for one night but loses charge and gets expensive to scale. Hydrogen stores energy for weeks without loss, so it handles the long gaps. The system includes a battery for instant switch-over, with hydrogen behind it for the long haul.

Is hydrogen safe at home?

Hydrogen is stored at low pressure (30 bar or less), with redundant leak sensors, automatic shutdown and venting. Every unit is designed to AS/NZS 60079 and the ISO 19880 hydrogen standards from day one.

How much water does it use?

About 9 litres of water makes a kilogram of hydrogen, and the fuel cell gives most of it back. H2OME uses filtered, de-ionised water, so it fits alongside a normal rural tank supply.

Is it good for farms and small industrial sites?

Yes. Pumps, milking sheds, workshops and remote telecom sites that run diesel generators today are exactly the loads it is designed to replace, with no fuel runs and no engine noise.

How much does it cost?

Pricing comes with the pilot. We are at the desk study stage now, moving to a bench demo and then pilot homes. Join the list and you will hear first, with real numbers from real installs.

When can I get one?

Pilot installs go to people on the pilot list first, starting with rural properties in New Zealand and Australia.
